Four Steps To Improve Your Bad Credit Rating And Get a Credit Card

March 17th, 2010

Many people are unaware at how simple it is to improve your bad credit rating and get a credit card.  The key is to go about using different methods to get approved credit and use those methods to enhance your poor score.

Here are the four simple steps to improve your bad credit rating and get a credit card.

  1. If you have a job, go to your credit union and get a loan – Because credit unions use your paycheck to deduct your monthly payments for the loan, they use your job history and probability to remain on the job as their approval criteria instead of your credit.
  2. Apply for a loan through your bank – They probably won’t approve you for a credit card.  However, if you have had an account with them for a long time period and never went negative on your account, they sometimes will allow you a small loan regardless of your bad credit rating.  You should start with something as small as $300 - $1000.
  3. Apply for a neighborhood store credit card – Maybe there’s a small retail store like some type of clothing or hardware store.  Try to open up an account with them and purchase a couple of small items that don’t add up to much.  Then ask if they mind reporting your payments to the credit bureau.
  4. Apply for a secured credit card – Although you have to come out of your pocket with your own money, it is still considered a loan.  They, therefore, report your transactions to the credit agencies as if it were a “regular” credit card.

The key to improving your bad credit rating is to make sure you make your payments to your new loans on time.  You should also make sure you do not pay the payment in full.  You can pay half the first month and then small amounts every month there on until the loan is paid in full.  This looks better to the credit card companies.

Just make sure the lenders are reporting your regular payments to the three credit bureaus.  Also keep your own payment history just in case you need to report it to the agencies yourself.

Go Green with a Prepaid Credit Debit Card

March 15th, 2010

If you are sincere about rebuilding your credit and living a better lifestyle, then you should also look for as many green opportunities as possible.

For example, if you are going to get a prepaid credit debit card, then you should make it a point to invest some of that money in energy independence.

Regardless of whether you use the funds to build a windmill or a solar panel, you will be well on the way to cutting costs that got you into your credit mess in the first place.

No matter how convenient your current lifestyle may be, it is a recipe for financial disaster if you don’t go green during the process of re-establishing your credit.

When you come through a financial crisis, you will have many scars left over for the rest of your life.  This alone should be enough reason for you to be cautious about getting into debt.

At the very least, when you get a prepaid credit debit card, you can use it to finance purchases that will reduce the amount of money you need to spend on other things.  In particular, you should look to minimize your energy and transportation expenses as much as possible.
As you watch the price of oil go up, it should be clear enough that energy costs are going to skyrocket again. Do you really want to go through another round of being harassed by bill collectors?

Wasn’t one brush with being on the verge of bankruptcy enough?

If you are concerned about the future, you should never use a prepaid credit debit card in order to go on living the same lifestyle that got you into so much trouble to begin with.

On the other hand, you can easily use this money to invest in green energy products that will pay for themselves faster than any other purchase.

A Debt Consolidation Counselor Can Make Your Life a Little Bit Easier

March 7th, 2010

Many people decide that the best way for them to repair their credit is to look for a debt consolidation counselor.

This is because it can be made easier to put all your debts into one loan whether it is a car loan, credit cards, a mortgage or all the above.

Once you consolidate them you only have to pay one creditor as opposed to many. In this way, it is easier.

If you are like most of us, you probably have the issue of not remembering to pay your bills, especially if you have a lot of them.

How many times have you paid a bill and saw that the same bill is due ten days from the day you just paid.

Unfortunately the bill you just paid was due the month before and therefore that new bill is the present month’s bill.

Now imagine that happening with three to six bills.

Overwhelming, isn’t it?

debt consolidation

Finding yourself a good debt consolidation counselor will help you to stay organized. You won’t miss paying other bills because they will all be rolled up in just one bill.

If you find a real decent counselor they will also help you to improve your credit.

You will make the agreed upon payment to the counselor and they will, in turn, make payments on time to the creditors on your behalf.

This can help make your life a bit smoother.

Get Fast Credit Repair Before Your Credit Card Interest Rates Skyrocket

March 4th, 2010

If you are late on a payment to one of your creditors, you may need to get fast credit repair.

When someone has a heart attack, most people do the sensible thing and call an ambulance. In fact, if you try to strangle the heart attack victim, or steal from their wallet, you may wind up facing criminal charges.

Oddly enough, when you are having a financial “heart attack”, credit card companies will bend over backwards in order to raise your interest rates or cause you other kinds of problems.

Without a question, when you make one late payment, there will be no end to what other blood sucking creditors will do to you. No matter how much you may enjoy vampire movies, you will most certainly feel miserable when you are drained by all those high interest rates.

That said, if you get fast credit repair, your lenders may never need to know about those late markers. This, in turn, will prevent them from using this particular excuse to raise your interest rates or cut you credit line.

In order to get your credit repaired, you will need to make use of tools and resources that put you in direct contact with the three main credit reporting agencies.

If you manage to find the right program, negative credit markers can be removed in less than 24 hours. Typically, you will be amazed to find out how fast your situation can be resolved once you know how to go about it.

Are you stuck with balances on 5 or 6 credit cards, and no way to pay them off?

As bad as your problems are, you don’t need to make it worse by allowing your creditors to jack up your interest rates.

Get fast credit repair and stop those creditors in their tracks.
